Radiological imaging required for diagnosis and treatment planning is performed in the radiology clinic. Techniques applied in dental radiology are divided into two as intraoral and extraoral according to the location of the sensor. Equipment that comes into contact with the mouth and saliva is used in a disposable hygienic sheath. Hard tissues such as bone or soft tissues such as muscle can be evaluated by using the appropriate radiographic technique according to the area or structure to be imaged. Thanks to digital radiography devices, optimum radiation dose is used while obtaining images. Three-dimensional reconstruction images of the head and neck region can be obtained with cone-beam computed tomography. Ultrasonic and magnetic resonance imaging may be required to visualize some lesions.
Patients whose examinations are completed are directed to the relevant departments of our faculty for their planned treatment. Please read the following statements before applying:
Bring your radiology, pathology or biochemistry reports along with your old radiological images, if any.
If necessary, you can be directed to your doctor or different units for consultation.
Before X-ray, patients should remove all metal items (earrings, buckles, necklaces, pins, glasses, piercings, removable prosthesis-dentures, hearing aids, etc.) in the head and neck area.
Pregnant women or those who are suspected of pregnancy should report their condition to the examining physician and imaging personnel.
Those with an infectious disease should notify the physician who examines them and the personnel performing the imaging.
